Home Health Care Manager

The manager of the home health care department is responsible for the overall day to day management of the division. This position provides daily and long term strategic leadership to the department. The manager works directly with the Director of Operations and the Vice President of Clinical Services to ensure that revenue, expense, and budget targets are met on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

The manager is also responsible for leading and monitoring the quality and quantity of work performed by the team, working in conjunction with the Vice President of Clinical Services to redefine, develop and implement Quality Standards of Care and Practice Guidelines. The manager is also expected to be able to handle the same hands on work as the members of their team.

Responsibilities:

• Lead in the daily management of the organization ensuring efficiency and effectiveness of the organization
• Analyze and incorporate effective work flow to ensure consistent delivery of excellent customer services
• Ensure quality, appropriateness and effectiveness of services
• Effectively and appropriately delegate to team members maximizing their individual skill levels
• Serve as liaison between the team and the company to facilitate optimal communication
• Resolve customer concerns and complaints in a constructive manner
• Serve as an intermediary between customer concerns and company needs
• Assure staff responds quickly and professionally to all customer inquiries within mutually agreed upon time frames
• Resolve customer concerns and complaints by identifying problems and coordinating appropriate corrective action
• When customer problems and questions arise, be able to provide answers to the customer's satisfaction
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of customer complaints and resolutions
• Works in conjunction with Finance to ensure out of state files are billed appropriately based on State Fee Schedules
customer requirements and current physician orders
• Maintain a complete understanding of laws impacting workers' compensation claims
• Offer effective ideas for individual staff to improve their skills and foster growth
• Maintain appropriate number of personnel to accomplish all department related tasks
• Ensure that all infusion therapy referrals are set up with the most appropriate infusion therapy provider
• Ensure proper drug, dose, frequency and duration is clearly documented and that any change in the orders are communicated and carried out by all parties
• Ability to identify contraindications for delivery method of IV therapy medication to ensure the most cost effective method of administration
• Ability to properly identify AWP based on current NDC code and calculate profit margin and sell price per drug
• Effectively review clinical documentation and make recommendations to improve patient care and outcomes
• Able to identify potential complications regarding patient care and take appropriate corrective action
• Act as liaison between team members and home care providers when complex issues are involved to appropriately resolve any issues and proactively notify the referral source of any issues with proposed resolution
• Able to intervene or provide assistance to team members staffing files, setting up infusion therapy or wound vacs as necessary
• Ability to effectively listen to multiple conversations regarding new referrals, staffing issues, or any other problems that may arise for team members while completing daily assignments
• Effectively determine necessary wound care supplies, based on diagnosis, procedure, type of wound, physician orders, and ensure prompt delivery
• Clear understanding of the financial aspects of HHC including profit margins, provider contracts, and payor agreements
• Manage daily operations with budgeted expenses and revenues in mind
• Ability to identify factors that effect profit margins/budget and propose solution to management
• Ability to identify new potential referral sources
• Foster ongoing relationships with current referral sources
